Exercise to Beat Constipation!

No one wants to talk about this shit (couldn’t resist), but we at Excy say bring it on. During our early Excy research, we have consistently heard from women that one of the most common reasons they seek some form of exercise is to help with constipation and bloating. Our male friends told us they go 1-3 times a day (more power to them I guess). But when it comes to women, whether it was an exercise bike, indoor spinning class, yoga, jump roping, running, or even walking, women consistently highlighted the need for exercise as a way to help regulate their GI systems to our Excy team.

What we found!

  1. Many women experience blood on the toilet paper when they have a bowel movement. Most treat as normal and just go on with their day and try to improve their diet, drink more water, or exercise. We say…call your doctor. As identified by WebMD, there are many reasons for blood in your stool, but either way, you should get it checked out because it can be a sign of a serious health problem. See this article http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/blood-in-stool
  2. We’re having authentic conversations with smart people because exercise is shown to help with constipation. We feel honored that our users can open up to us and we think people will enjoy the community we are building. Here’s a great article in WebMD with a lot of good information on how exercise can help constipation. Excy can help here too for those who prefer a more convenient way to workout at home, at work or on-the-go.
  3. You are what you eat! Diet and nutrition can absolutely impact our GI systems. Here’s a list of the Top 5 Constipation Foods and Avoid and Eat.

Either way, just know that you’re not the only one thinking about constipation, so open up and talk to your friends. You can even use these 13 Surprising Causes of Constipation to strike the conversations.
