As we highlighted in the Excy blog post “Best 2015 Guide to Buying an Exercise Bike,” there are so many names for the spinning exercise favorite ranging from stationary cycle, exercise bicycle, exercise bike, studio cycle, indoor bike or exercycle. At Excy, we prefer “exercise cycle” or “exercycle” since that’s where the name was born (EX-ercise/CY-cle).
Our reason for this is because Excy does so much more than a traditional exercise bike, studio cycle, or indoor bike and is designed to work anywhere. We’re getting close to sharing more details about how we plan to inspire more people to fit fitness anywhere. For a sneak peek, here’s an exercise summary from one of my favorite Excy upper body HIIT (high intensity interval training) workouts from this morning.
As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I recently broke my leg while rollerblading with my son. I’m still on crutches, in a boot, and on blood thinners for clot caused by the injury. It’s pretty amazing to be able to do a substantial upper body HIIT workout from my home with an average BPM of 134 and burn 362 calories in 30 minutes. That includes a warm up and cool down (so those numbers could have been higher). It’s a phenomenal upper body HIIT workout, whether fitness beginner or athlete.
We look forward to sharing more Excy workouts and of course, showing you our portable exercise cycle. We get closer every day.
