Menopause happens to half the population, yet no one talks about it. But on November 10, Excy will proudly participate in conversations about the changes that happen to women their 40s and 50s at “The M Event” that is being put on by Genneve. The event takes place on Saturday, November 10, 2018 , 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM PST at Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA. Excy will be exhibiting, so please come by and say hello! Here’s a link for more information. You can also access “The M Event” via live stream for free.
Recently, founder of Genneve Jill Angelo participated in a live workout with Excy founder Michele Mehl. The two have joined forces as part of the Founders Fight Cancer campaign for breast cancer awareness and had a frank conversation about menopause and being pre-menopausal. With both women are in their mid 40s, so it led to an interesting conversation about hormonal changes happening in the body, changing menstrual cycles, the importance of exercise for health, and a great conversation about common barriers to exercise as women age.
During the Excy workout, Michele had Jill try the floor cycling exercise where the rider is lying flat on their back. This position can also be used to exercise in bed. Jill is a runner and her hips often feel tight, so Jill was also shown some hip flexor exercises.
The two also explored the resistance training offered in the portable full body cycling Excy system, which can be great for building overall stamina and strength. They started with the resistance set to easy and then turned it up. Jill also tried the Excy bridge cycling move to focus on activating the glutes.
If you are interested in learning more about Genneve and menopause, we strongly encourage you take their menopausal test, which only takes about 5 to 7 minutes.
