Sedentary: It’s not the sitting that’s killing our health, it’s the sedentary sitting!

Spring is a time for new life and new beginnings! Everyone thinks that’s reserved for New Year’s, but no, not really. Why not now when the days start getting longer, and the weather warmer!

For some that means running or riding outside instead of on a treadmill or bike trainer (watch for common injuries). For others, it could mean shifting inside with allergies or rain.

Whatever your new beginning is, we invite you to use this time to spring your health forward by becoming less sedentary and more active where you live, work, and play.

Even if you achieve the daily-recommended levels of physical activity, you are still at the same risk as those who spent their day sitting. We ALL need to be moving more.

For me, that’s with Excy at my desk (I step cycle), while watching TV in the evening (I switch it up), or on the sidelines of my kiddo’s sports (typically chair cycle).

Perhaps you have recovered from Daylight Savings Time (perhaps not…I’m finally back to my morning routine this week). Either way, lets spring into health together!
