Excy XCS Pro Help Make Medical Fitness Cycling Easier in Hospitals
Today, we are excited to announce the Excy XCS Pro, a new portable total body cycling system that offers easier access to quality bed, chair, and floor pedaling exercises. Key features were driven by feedback from customers like Stanford Health Care, University of the Pacific sports medicine department, and other physical therapy clinics across the country.
Like the Excy XCS 200 series, the XCS Pro folds for easy storage and transport and has unmatched resistance and quality in a portable device. The system empowers physical therapists, rehab nurses, and caretakers to hand carry a durable recumbent bike, upper body ergometer, and bed pedal exerciser directly to their patients in a single device to encourage medical fitness.
The XCS Pro weighs 14.5 pounds (1/2 pound heavier than our XCS series) and has a bi-directional resistance range of less than a pound to 25 pounds (the XCS 200 series has a range of 2-70 pounds). We have lowered the resistance range to accommodate a less conditioned hospital patient population, yet still offer enough resistance help patients improve strength, endurance, and conditioning. The new XCS Pro system has a wider front bar for greater stability on soft surfaces like beds and physical therapy tables. The system also offers a wider Keeper to more fully leverage our patented approach and drive a new standard in accessible upper and lower body pedaling movements from seated, standing, or lying down positions. Body location indicators have been added to the Excy Keeper to help physical therapists record knee and hip flexion in order to create personalized programs for those recovering from knee injuries or surgery. See specs for more details.
Meet the New Excy XCS 200 Portable Arm Ergometer and Leg Pedal Exerciser
To help physical therapists and caretakers create customized exercise programs unique to their patients, Excy has collaborated with PT-Helper to include over 20 Excy exercises in its web and mobile exercise platform. Within the PT-Helper app, physical therapists can pick an Excy exercise and easily customize duration, hold time, recovery time, rest time, repetitions, sets, and more. We have also added the PT-Helper illustrations, as well as new physical therapy tutorial videos to the free Excy iOS and Android mobile coaching applications.
Meet the Upgraded Excy Mobile Coaching Application
Millions of people live with mobility limitations that make walking, climbing stairs, cycling, or basic exercise extremely challenging. By allowing patients to have greater access to medical fitness to focus on their whole body in a bed, bedside, or from a chair with a durable device, we want to open up a world of exercise for a patient population that is dramatically overlooked in the fitness industry.
Happy Pedaling!
